Our special speaker Sunday morning was Bro. Bill Sparks, a longtime friend, and no stranger to Trinity Baptist Church. You will enjoy his preaching. Sunday night, Bro. Jerry Eastes, Missionary to the Philippines will be speaking. I am at the Monaville Baptist Church until Tuesday night in a revival meeting. Pray that God will Bless!
One of our church members has a pressing financial need of $350. Can you help? The need is real, and the party has shared with me the situation they are in right now. If just 35 people gave $10, the need would be met. Here's a chance for us to reach out and help one of our own. Thanks!
Our church staff have been working toward the new Sunday School year. We have planned several work nights beginning August 30. We will be painting classrooms and adding whiteboards and storage cabinets and sprucing up the rooms as we prepare for out Sunday School Promotion Sunday - September 12.
On a personal note: Thanks for the cards and the monetary gifts I received for my 66th birthday last week. I don't feel a day over 70.
PASTOR OF THE WEEK
Our pastor of the week is Bro. Charles Ennis of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Clayton, North Carolina. Bro. Ennis started the work 42 years ago when the town had about 1,800 people and now it has grown to over 12,000. They have a Bible College with 168 students with a 5000 Watt Radio Station. Two years ago, Bro. Ennis was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, but has overcome it without chemo or radiation. He is 70 years old and according to him is "still going strong for the Lord." He asked us to pray for the Bible college which is preparing to have night classes. Please send him a note or card at the address below.

A New York lawmaker (Jerrold Nadler) called and asked the airline if they put a physical description of the passengers on the luggage so they know who it belongs to? The customer service person answered, "No, why do you ask?" He replied, "I checked in on a recent flight and they put a tag on my bag which read FAT and I am overweight and I think that is very rude." The customer service person had to put the caller on hold and almost could not contain his laughter. Finally, he resumed the call and told the lawmaker, "Sir, your flight was to Fresno, California and the city code for Fresno is F.A.T. meaning 'Fresno Air Terminal' and the agent was simply putting the destination tag on your luggage."*
