RACHAEL'S RAMBLINGS - Rachael Montoya [webmaster]
Well folks, I am terrible at updating this website. Please forgive me. I truly feel guilty for not doing this simple request that I feel the Lord has laid on my heart to accomplish each week. So with that in mind, I am starting this segment on the TBC Members page in an effort to change my ways. Should you want to make a comment about what I have written, or if you are a member and would like to make an announcement, please feel free to email me information@tbcgp.org and I will place it on this page.
I want to brag on our Pastor, Tommy O'Dell. When I heard this man of God preach, I knew I was in the right place, at the right time. Rest assured that Pastor O'Dell will preach the Word of God no holds barred. If you are doing wrong, his preaching will convict you to tears and regret. If you are unsure of God's love for you, he will provide passages from the Bible of God's faithfulness, unconditional love and promises of joy. Most of all, should you wish to go to Heaven when you die, Pastor O'Dell will direct you according to the Holy Bible. If you want to learn more of Jesus Christ our Saviour, come to Trinity Baptist Church and just let it happen.
If you missed Church Sunday morning, here is a recap from my perspective. Honestly, the devil must have known that I was about to learn something, because let me tell you, my eyelids were fighting with me. Why is that? We get sleepy in Church and if we succumb we miss a blessing. Fortunately, Bro. Sparks told a funny story about his daughters and I won the battle. I will share what I learned. I hope it helps.
Bro. Sparks was our visiting Preacher and his topic was "Putting First Things First". The versus were from the book of Nehemiah10:28-36.
5 PRIORTIES TO PUTTING FIRST THINGS FIRST
1. The Bible - First Believe the Bible above all other books. There are many resources which assist by giving additional information in terms of definition, culture and traditions of the day. Still, believe the Bible First.
2. Jesus - Please Jesus First. In this world our relationships would have us confused sometimes. Before everyone, Please Jesus First before pleasing family and friends. Don't worry all things will come together.
3. Prayer - Our First privilege is Prayer. We are to remember to pray continually. This is our privilege to pray for our Pastor, Sunday School Teacher, church members, family etc.We go before the Lord through Jesus Christ to present our petitions.
4. Soul Winning - As believers in Jesus Christ. We are given the great commission (Matthew 28:19 KJV) "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"
5. Giving - The First of all Graces is our ability to be giving. It is more blessed to give than to receive.
There were other things that stood out and I wrote it down in my notes so I would remember. I promise to make it quick.
Neh 10:28 - Tells us that the people of God were separated to themselves unto the law of God, their whole family including the knowledge and understanding of God in their lives.
Neh 10:30 - Spoke of how the people of God would not intermingle with those who were not believers.
Neh 10:31 - Speaks how the unbelievers would sell on the Sabbath day which it was in their society. We are to be people of distinction. When unbelievers see us in the normal course of business, they should be able to notice we are different. We should not participate in course joking or lewd behavior.
Neh 10:36 - A reminder that we are to give our firstfruits of our dough along with our additional offerings to the Lord which are our tithes. [Note: By personal experience, I am fully persuaded that when I obey this commandment to pay my 10% of my income to the Lord aka my check to the Church; I will be provided for and I will have enough for my household and also be a blessing to others. The term "You cannot out give God" is a reality I live with daily.]
Until later. May the Lord Bless and keep you. May the Lord make his face to shine upon you and give you peace. May the Lord be gracious unto you and meet your needs whatever they be. With the beginning of each day, I pray you experience true Joy. Happiness is temporary, oh but Joy is ever wonderful*
